Who we support
The Human Rights Defenders Fund (HRDF) will provide support to any human rights defender who may need us in Israel, East Jerusalem, and the West Bank.
Beneficiaries of our services include the following demographics:
- Palestinians under military occupation in the West Bank
- Palestinians with Israeli residency status in East Jerusalem
- Jewish citizens of Israel
- Palestinian citizens of Israel
- Human Rights Organizations / Civil Society Organizations
- International visitors or residents conducting human rights work

HRDF’s work supports individuals & collectives conducting solidarity work, communities under attack, civil rights struggles, and social justice movements which include but are not limited to:
- Palestinian shepherds, farmers, land defenders, and local residents in Area C (such as Masafer Yatta and the Jordan Valley) resisting ethnic cleansing at the hands of settlers and army.
- Bedouin communities in the Negev/Naqab fighting against land expropriation by the Israeli state and the JNF/KAKAL
- East Jerusalem residents (esp. Sheikh Jarrah) organizing against evictions, settler violence, and the Judaization of Palestinian neighborhoods.
- Marginalized communities inside Israel advocating for equality, recognition, and protections (i.e., Ethiopian, Mizrahi, Palestinian citizens of Israel, and LGBT rights movements).
- Palestinian civil disobedience leaders and organizers in the West Bank.
- Anti-occupation & anti-war activists, collectives, and organizations in Israel.
- Israeli and international “protective presence” activists.
- Arab-Jewish partnership civil society organizations.
- Documenters, field researchers, and journalists.
- Academics and lawyers.
- Community leaders, peace activists, and movement organizers.
- Climate justice and environmentalist movements.
- And more.
