As a result of a Freedom of Information Request filed by the Human Rights Defenders Fund and the Movement for Freedom of Information, we were able to conduct the first comprehensive review of convictions in the IDF military courts in the occupied West Bank in over a decade.

Between January 2018 to April 2021, we found that in the military courts:

  • 96% of cases ended in conviction.
  • 99.9% of those convicyions were a result of plea bargains.
  • There is only a 0.3% exoneration rate among cases that go through the military courts.
